The main thread that runs through these paintings in The Shine On Series is the lemon, the sour and yet boldly bright fruit, which lends itself to capturing sun rays and smiles. I wouldn’t say these paintings are optimistic, but maybe they offer a light in the darkness. The bright yellow lemons are allowed to shine through the backgrounds.
